The Two Birds 2020 Sponsorship Programme

Become a 2020 Sponsored Skater!

It’s that time of year again where we invite applications for our annual sponsorship programme.

The programme is open to all figure skaters regardless of age, gender, ability, discipline or location to apply for sponsorship and we hope to be able to showcase a broad cross section of our skating community during the year ahead.

This year, for the first time ever, we’re also opening up applications to synchro teams which is very exciting!

The deadline for applications this year is Saturday 29th February at 6pm.

To learn more about the details of the program, including the different categories available… and some hints and tips on how to make your application stand out watch my introductory video.

The application process is very easy – simply make a short (up to 3 mins) video introducing yourself and highlighting some of your skating.

Think of it as a mini vlog as you’ll be making these regularly if you’re one of the chosen skaters for 2020.

Our top tips for your video’s are to make them fun and creative, speak clearly and not too fast (avoid noisy backgrounds if possible) and to get someone to hold the phone/camera for you OR put it on a stand so that the video isn’t shaky.

We’re looking for skaters who have a story to tell or a journey to share as well as skaters who fit with our core brand values – inspiring, resilient, determined, confident.

In return you will receive a platform to share your journey as well as around £350 worth of Two Birds London products throughout the year.  You’ll also have our support every step of the way, we’ll be cheering you on at competitions (in person or from afar), supporting you when things are tough and shouting your achievements from the rooftops.

If you think this is you, we’d love to hear from you.  Good luck!

2019 Sponsored Skaters

Francesca is 16 and skates at Blackpool, Blackburn and Deeside. She competes in solo ice dance at junior level and is currently looking for a partner. Last year in the British championships she placed 3rd and the year before placed 1st at advanced novice! Francesca has also competed internationally in solo dance, winning the Copenhagen cup for 3 consecutive years in basic novice, advanced novice and junior. Francesca also loves to jump and is hoping to compete at advanced novice level this year, eventually moving up to junior!

Emma is 17 years old and trains in Kirkcaldy. She currently competes at level 7 in figure, and placed 2nd on two occasions at this level in 2019. Emma performs in her clubs annual skating show and has a budding passion to turn performing in shows into a career. Being the oldest competitor in her club, she also loves to help the younger skaters both off and on the ice and enjoys coaching learn to skate sessions at her rink.

Caitlyn is 11 years old and her home rink is Widnes.  Coached by Amanda Galloway, she competes at Basic Novice in Solo Ice Dance and has just moved up to Basic Novice in her Free Skating too.  Her seasons highlights include winning 1st place in her solo ice dance at Murrayfield, earning silver at Lee Valley in free skating Level 2 and winning silver in the Planet Ice National Artistic finals.  Caitlyn also holds a place on the GB Development Squad.  She’s loved being a Two Birds Ambassador and showing all her skating friends her sponsorship gear which she wears with pride, but most of all she’s loved making new friends with all the other sponsored skaters and seeing them at Two Birds events and competitions.

Lily is 8 years old and trains at the Viola Arena in Cardiff. She currently competes at level 1 in Free Skating and in the Juvenile category for Ice Dance. Last year placing 7th in The British Solo Ice Dance Championships. She has qualified for The Youngstars Development programme and The 2019/2020 Development Squad for Solo Dance.

Megan is 13 and skates at Blackpool. She has been skating 5 years and skates at BIS level 2. Megan has severe scoliosis. Despite the obvious limitations she has in figure skating by having 2 titanium rods pinned to her spine, she continues to work hard every day to overcome them and doesn’t let any of it stop her. She has worked hard to pass several tests this year and for the last 2 years has enjoyed performing as a cast member in the Blackpool Ice Drome Charities Association Christmas Pantomime. This year it was Beauty & the Beast and they rehearse every weekend from September so it’s an important part of her skating life. She’s looking forward to trying her hand at more competitions this year.

Ava is an eleven year old free skater, who trains trains at Basingstoke, Bracknell and Coventry. She has recently moved up to Advanced Novice after a successful season, and is looking forward to her first competition at this level. 2019 has seen a number of competitions wins for Ava, including her first international title in Prague. She has completed all her field moves tests, is a member of the GB development squad and will compete in the upcoming British Championships.
